New stretch target

Thank you for all the support you've given us so far.

The more money we raise, the more we can do. Reaching our stretch target will enable us to host more workshops and events, share strategies nationwide and keep the energy going after the weekend is over.

What we want to do

We are organising an activation weekend for the arts after the Brexit vote, which will take place over the weekend 13th – 15th January 2017.

We will bring together a diverse group of cultural workers, activists, community organisers and politicians to begin new friendships and collaborations.

We believe that sharing online petitions, moaning in private and individual responses are not enough. We need to organise collectively, support existing campaigns and instigate a complex cultural shift that acknowledges art's complicity in politics.

This weekend will not create polished solutions, but start conversations about key issues facing the UK after the Brexit vote. These will be shared in a variety of formats, from meals to music, coding to printing, talking to testing. We will host workshops about post-ref arts policies, migrants rights, combating hatred, co-opted language, feminist administration, mob media, giving up activism, alternative financing and many more arts and social justice issues.

Racism and fascism didn’t just magically appear on the 23rd of June. For all the European citizens who no longer feel welcome, there are millions of other citizens who were never welcome. Austerity, colonialism and patriarchy have been hardening our bodies for a long time.

How we will use your money

After self-funding the Britain Is Not An Island campaign during the EU referendum, we now need your help to keep going. Your contributions will pay for food, admin, childcare, space hires, printing, design and marketing. We will also use the money raised to pay a small fee to contributors. Most labour has been and will be supplied in kind.

Because of our limited resources, the weekend will be London-centric, with satelite events taking place in cities and towns across the UK. We will share all ideas generated on our www.makeitclear.eu website and are planning a UK-wide tour to disseminate the strategies we develop.

As a thank you for your contributions we're offering a  wide range of great rewards, from conversations with fantastic people to limited edition 2017 Calendars, a brand new sticker collection and Potatoes Are Immigrants t-shirts. We'll aim to post everything out to you in time for Christmas!

Who we are

According to Breitbart, we're "the hard left-millennials who love EU bureaucrats and hate border control."

In fact, we're an intergenerational group of women, who want to do something about all the dicks taking our freedoms and rights, while pretending to be anti-establishment crusaders. We want to unite against dividers.

We use humour and other artistic methods to add cultural complexity to binary political debates. You've probably seen our stickers Keep British Pensioners In Spain and Leaving The EU Will Not Bring Back The Empire, if not check our Instagram or www.eu-uk.info

Our work has been featured not only on Breitbart, but also on Frieze and we've worked with Artsadmin, The Showroom, Peckham Platform, Eastside Projects, Rabbits Road Institute, Company Drinks, A---Z, Vote Art, MIMA, Party Politics, Transition Gallery and many more non-institutional organisations and allies.

We believe that we can only progress collectively, but we also think that this collectivity needs to be decentralised, heterogeneous and complex. We are organising this weekend to galvanise 500 Angry Mice into action:
