Hi, I’m Karen Davis. I grew up in Norfolk, have lived in Norwich for twenty years and am seeking selection as Labour’s Parliamentary candidate for Norwich North.
I'm not standing for selection because I’ve always wanted a career in Westminster. I only want to represent Norwich and have not applied to be a candidate anywhere else - before or now.
To give Labour the best chance of success against a well-established local Tory MP, Labour needs a candidate who has deep roots in our city, knows the local issues well. And, because a General Election could happen at any time, that Labour candidate must be able to hit the ground running.
As a city councillor, cabinet portfolio holder for social inclusion and community activist in the city, my links are with Norwich. I don’t have the connections other candidates might have from general, long-term careers in politics. So my campaign has to be people-powered - which is where I’m hoping you can help!
From leaflets to travel to telephone calls, I need to raise money to cover all of the basics of running a selection campaign.
If you want a Labour candidate who can go onto be an MP for the city they live in, has a track record of success with Labour in Norwich and who is genuinely in touch with the people who live here, please make a donation to my campaign now. Thank you.
