Kahaila-Reflex: Community

Kahaila-Reflex: Community

To double the support we are able to give young women when they are released from prison.

We did it!

On 24th Feb 2017 we successfully raised £7,140 of £3,000 target with 50 supporters in 28 days

New stretch target

Can you get us to £4500 and give even more women in prison the opportunity and time to engage with community support once released?

YOUR money will increase the number of hours that Support Workers are able to give to women in the community and will be a catalyst for change.

Can you help?

You can help us double the number of women we are supporting in the community who want to make a new life for themselves as they leave prison. £3,000 will get us to our target and help these women get over the line. And be the people they want to be.

Many young women in prison have come from places of rejection and suffering. Leaving prison can be an overwhelming experience and, without the right support, women can end up being back in prison. The very last place they want to be. Hopes of a new life dashed. Again.

At Kahaila-Reflex, we’ve been working with women in prison for five years. And we’ve learnt that young female offenders are in desperate need of positive role models, new skills and new opportunities. We’ve been able to help them in prison. And since January 2016, we’ve been helping them once they leave prison.

So far the results have been great; demonstrating to us the importance of continuing and expanding the work.

Providing this service takes time and money, and that’s where you come in. We need your donations to help young women prisoners get their lives on track.

£20 will provide a mentoring session for a woman ; £50 will cover expenses for 5 mentoring sessions; £200 will provide six months of support for a woman

We can only do it with your help.

"If I hadn't been through Kahaila-Reflex, I'd still be lying. I'd still be doing stuff and thinking 'No one's going to know' and I'd be back in prison." [Extract from interview with Tash* who Kahaila-Reflex have supported since her release from prison last year]

Tash and others like her have come this far.  Help us with our target. And help them get over the line and be the people they want to be.
