We aim to raise the necessary funding required to travel to Scotland and back from Cornwall, so that they can host host a charity JOGLE ride

by Gareth Sell and Steve Worrall in London, England, United Kingdom

On the 2nd of August 2019 Gareth and Steve plan to begin an epic thousand mile ride from John O'Groats to Lands End, in aid of Marie Curie and the Irish Cancer Society.

This ride will be the first time Gareth will cycle with a companion, having previously cycled solo through Europe twice and across Australia, where the two met and struck up a friendship. Now both are residing in London, with Steve working for an insurance company and Gareth furthering his studies in education.

Having cycled as extensively as Gareth has you would be wrong to think staying in the UK would be easy. He has previously attempted this route between the UK's most extreme points before, cycling non-stop till he collapsed in a bid to complete the distance in three days. Four years on he has recuperated and complete his second Trans-European ride. However, he knows that the ride itself is only half the challenge, the other half and foremost challenge is getting to and from the extreme points of the UK mainland.

Despite planning to take two weeks to complete this event, their biggest concern is the logistics, especially in reaching John O'Groats in the Highlands of Scotland. A journey that will take an entire day and several long train journeys, with their bikes and equipment. this route isn't cheap and leaves no room for mishaps, which will take time away from the scheduled cycling days. Still the train terminates some fifteen miles short of the start point and its a similar if not a little easier story to return from Lands End in Cornwall. As many of you may know, public transport is not cheap and on top of that they need to kit out their bikes, for which Gareth is needing. His touring bike was stolen in Budapest, one month into a two month expedition through Eastern Europe.

So this Crowdfunder is to kickstart their event by seeking sponsorship. Both men have said that all sponsors are greatly appreciated no matter the amount and anything that is leftover from the costs of hosting this epic ride will be donated to the two charities.
