Jewins women2women has been operating for close to 9 years now, supporting Bame and non Bame women who have been through domestic abuse. In the last 13 months, we have supported 50 women by providing online counseling and coaching with court support, advocacy support, and cultural support. We are now in a place where we need funding to pay for staff and pay for more therapy for these women and their coaching. For 9 years we have been lead by volunteers.
We are at a stage now that we need to employ staff and pay for more therapy for these women. Most of these women have experienced deep trauma lasting 10-20 years the current six sessions that we offer are not enough for them, some of them are needing one to one coaching to help with the long-term consequences of domestic abuse in the long term.
Domestic violence is a crime and it affects the mental well-being of these women, two of our clients were suicidal but are no longer suicidal, and are gainfully employed now. Our services are life-changing and successful in reversing these long-term consequences of abuse.
