Hello and thank you for looking at my page. My name is Jess and I am 13 years old. I am trying to raise lots of money for Cornwall Hospice Care, this is something that is very close to my heart. My school friends and I have decided to take part in The Bodmin Lions Ten Tors challenge. Its an 13 mile walk over the 10 highest tors in Cornwall. The rugged Moorland can be challenging in itself and the ground is tuff. My inspiration and motivation for this came about through witnessing first hand what the hospice offer. I have lost close family friends and seen for myself the amazing work they do, which is entirely funded through charitable donations. Sadly, the hospice have had to close some of the rooms they offer due to the fact that they simply need more funds to keep all 12 rooms open. I am in year 8 at school and we are a very small and close year group of just 37. Unfortunately Two of my friends from school have lost their Mums to cancer which has been devastating to watch. Myself and 14 classmates all aged 12 and 13 are determind to complete this challenge and really want to show our support, we are busy training for this event and have made a good start in raising funds. The Hospice has suffered over recent years with charities in general seeing a decline in donations along within the downturn in the economy. We want to do all we can to help because without the Hospice the people I know would have been lost. I am so sad for my friends, they shouldnt have to experience the things they have, and so I really wanted to just do something to show them how much I care and also do something for the hospice for all that they do.
With your help, Jess's army can make a big difference!
