Described by critics as 'Spellbinding' and 'Deeply expressive', Jessica Burroughs is equally at home as an orchestral leader, soloist and chamber musician. Currently she holds the Section Leader Cello position with the Orchestra of Opera North and is in regular demand as a guest principal working with orchestras across the UK and Europe at festivals such as the BBC Proms, Beethoven 250 and Lucerne Festival, Switzerland.

As a soloist and chamber musician Jessica regularly performs with the Roscoe Piano Trio, Moricosta String Trio and Cyprus based Contemporary music group, Ensemble Cyclamen. She has performed with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall and as solo cellist in Tchaikovsky’s ‘Sleeping Beauty’ for CD label, Orchid Classics.

Jessica is passionate about collaboration and exploring new ways to enjoy the experience of concerts and was given the unique opportunity to nurture this as an Artist-in-Residence at Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, Canada. Alongside performing and individual project planning, Jessica is the Events Programmer for the charity ‘Awards for Young Musicians’.
