The objective of the business is to provide diagnostic dental scans for patients who are referred to us via their dentist. We will use a mobile x-ray suite to travel to the dentists/patients desired location to provide the scan.
Patients pay prior to arrival and are scanned in a 20-minute booking slot. The scans are returned to the dentist is the desired viewing format. Enabling patients who are restricted from travelling to practices due to; disability, childcare issues, travel issues, Remote locations, time sensitive to get the scans they require to get the best care from there dentist.
We will also provide a rental service for dentist’s practices without x-ray scanners, in this case they can rent the scanner and the radiographer to operate the unit. They can rent the unit at a ½ day or full day rate.
There are approximately 12,000 dental practices in the UK, currently around 10% of dentist do not own dental x-ray unit. I am a qualified diagnostic radiographer, with 5 years’ experience using diagnostic imaging equipment in various medical settings such as, NHS, Private institutions, vets, and MOD. As part of the role, radiographers undertake dental x-rays, this is something I enjoyed. Becoming the core trainer for the dental suite at Birmingham Children’s Hospital and assisting in the research and implementing protocols for the new CBCT scanner they had installed in 2016. I have advanced dental x-ray training at Birmingham dental hospital, and I have worked using CBCT scanners a both clinically, sales demonstration and teaching. I was previously employed as a clinical applications specialist, where I would train radiographer how to use their new equipment. Part of the role was also dental sales and training, selling capital equipment and training staff how to use the units, this would include scanners from Planmeca. I have also had training on all dental units the offer at Coventry and in Sweden, to allow me to cascade training to other staff members, demonstrations, and support for existing customers.
I have worked in dental sales for the world’s leading dental company, this has enabled me to work with and meet some of the biggest names in the dental world. It has also enabled me to be part of some of the most intensive dental training in Europe. I have attended dental events around the world and private events in Germany. I have also worked self-employed as a consultant for dentists for the last 2 years and understand the need for this type of business in the private sector. There is a current market for this type of set up for dental x-rays, I know from experience, patients would appreciate not having to travel to the next city or take the whole day off work or arrange childcare for a scan that lasts 30 seconds.
I have used CBCT scanners over the past 5 years in various setting, with relevant experience and knowledge on how to complete scans safely and sell my product effectively to clients and potential new clients.
