This project will allow me to get the equipment necessary to pursue my film career and to tell influential stories that make a difference.

by Jay Whittington Barrette in London, England, United Kingdom

I am a canadian who studied cinema. I have moved to London in the UK to get my foot in the door of the film industry as my passion is to make movies and direct them. The film industry is difficult to get into. This is why I chose the path of making my own movies, so I can convey the messages that I want and to gain the necessary experience to work in the industry as a director. Seeing the current state of the world makes a lot of us feel powerless against what is happening to our world and planet. For me, making films is a chance to express to the world my point of view and an opportunity to give hope to viewers by sharing our common feelings about the world today. It is also an opportunity to get messages across to humanity about what actions we can take to make a difference. Filmmaking is more than just an art to me. All though I am very passionate about it and enjoy making movies - I believe it has a greater meaning than only art. This funding campaign will allow me to get the equipment necessary for me to work on projects and finalise movies that I want to put out into the world. I have various projects in mind that concern global warming, social issues, strengthening and improving our social and political structures, etc. I currently have a few projects that are in pre-production and production. The equipment that this funding will help me to get will allow me to finalise the projects and send them to festivals and platforms to be seen.
