The Opera Awards Foundation

Support the Opera Awards Foundation and foster the future of opera.

We did it!

On 27th May 2016 we successfully raised £2,250 with 18 supporters in 56 days

The International Opera Awards were founded in 2012 in partnership with Opera Magazine.   The aims of the International Opera Awards are simple: • To raise the profile of opera as an art form • To recognise and reward success from those involved in opera • Most importantly, to generate funds to provide bursaries for aspiring talent in opera from around the world.

Over the last three years the International Opera Awards has raised over £100,000 for the Opera Awards Foundation and has given out 36 bursaries to aspiring talent in opera.

We’re dedicated to fostering the future of opera by supporting its next generation of talent.

Every year, our committee receives applications from dozens of determined, resourceful and gifted artists. They include singers and repetiteurs, directors and designers, conductors and educators. They come from all around the world and from every kind of background.

Their reasons for seeking financial support are many and varied, from funding coaching sessions or conservatory fees to paying for new headshots, a new website or a language course.

What they all have in common is this: they’re passionate about a career in opera – and they cannot get there alone.

We support as many of them as we’re able. But we would love to be able to do even more.

This is your chance join the Opera Awards Foundation family and help us continue to support opera's rising stars.

By pledging to our Crowdfunder campaign, you’ll help us to expand the number of bursaries available and to widen our programme of recitals, masterclasses and other events, all of which offer invaluable performance opportunities to young artists while also bringing exceptional music making to our supporters and audience members.

We know a warm glow and a heartfelt thanks goes a long way.

But we also have a variety of rewards to offer as thanks for your support, including tickets to our show and afterparty, subscriptions to Opera magazine and even a special video thank you message recorded by Jamie Barton, our 2014 Young Singer of the Year who is taking the opera world by storm.

We’re even planning an exclusive cocktail party just for our highest level supporters, hosted by star tenor and expert mixologist Stuart Skelton at his own London residence. You won’t see an invitation to this anywhere else: now’s your one and only chance to make sure you’re on the list.

Alternatively, if you don't want - or can't use - the material rewards, you can make your contribution go even further by making a donation with Gift Aid.
