Sandy Lane Centre is managed by volunteers, who set up one of the first social enterprises in Staffordshire over 10 years ago, and it is also a registered charity.
Our felt pitched roof is reaching the end of its life and we need to replace it with a modern insulated version. Sandy Lane Centre is well used by the whole community, particularly by children and families. Busy Bees Playgroup is the main user of the Centre during the termtime. We are located at the heart of Brown Edge and serve as one of the village's polling stations. Other regular users include dance classes, a junior Youth Club, exercise and fitness groups; the Centre is also frequently used for children's birthday parties.
We need to raise sufficient funds as soon as possible to replace the roof covering in a planned way, rather than have to close the Centre due to sudden failure of the old felt roof.
