Hello. I am an avid crafter with a special interest in invisible disabilities. My idea is to embroider various items for sale including face clothes, key rings and purses. I also intend to make items for people with invisible disabilities to help with their day to day lives. For instance my daughter has sensory issues and has inspired this project. She likes to think everything belongs to her and a row of personalised face cloths gives her a visual reminder that she cannot have them all and ensures the rest of the family have clean faces! She also inspired my personalised wristband that holds our details in case she ever gets separated from us. Of course any parent could use these but I think they would be very useful to parents of non verbal children.
I will spend the money raised on equipment and supplies needed to produce these items. I have the know-how and ability but lack the tools. I will have 2 sides to my project . The first will be 'off the rack' items which I will offer for sale at school fairs, table sales , markets and on face book marketplace. These will be generic items , face cloths with a cute image and slogan like ' Splash time' or 'Part time mermaid'. The second side will be working with my customers to produce personalised items that are made to order and designed especially for them and will incorporate any special requests they may have .This might be the wristband mentioned above or a allergy alert tag .
