Most families in the UK now need to be full-time working families and yet juggling a work life balance and appropriate childcare is very difficult.
As parents, we need better access to quality and affordable childcare so that we can go to work, knowing that our little ones are taken good care of, during the hours that we need.
Up until now, there has been little support from the Employers with regards to our childcare requirements.
Infant Index wants to work with more of the UKs bigger employers to support 'parents' working in their organisations.
This support will also encourage flexible working hours, remote working, shifts that work around school hours or maternity/paternity leave packages over and above the statutory guidelines. Infant Index will also be promoting the benefits of employers having onsite workplace nurseries or subsidised childcare facilities for their employees.
Business who actively welcome and support parents it he workforce can be awarded Infant Index Accreditation, recognising and promoting their efforts in creating an inclusive, diverse workplace.
The benefit to businesses becoming Infant Index Certified will be a happier more engaged work force which will result in higher retention and lower absenteeism . Recruitment will be easier, as accredited employers are much more desirable, with 98% of parents saying that they would choose an employee based on their family friendliness over the salary offered. *results based on a childcare survey by Infant Index 2018.
Infant Index want to reach out to more UK employers and as a result we require more marketing material and staff resource to spread the message. So far this project has been self funded but we are now looking to grow this campaign and start hitting some larger organisations.
