We are super excited to introduce inFalmouth, a brand new magazine all about enjoying life, celebrating creativity and bringing people together in our buzzy, beautiful town.
We believe there's too much doom & gloom in the media and our focus is on positive and inspirational content. We're providing imaginative ideas for things to do and explore in the area, as well as a platform to share creative projects and exciting community stories.
With a plan to launch early this summer, the independent A5 magazine will be FREE to pick up to enjoy some lovely, feel-good reading.
We’ve created a mini ‘prototype’ issue to give you a taste of what’s to come in our first full issue. TAKE A LOOK HERE.
Hello :) I’m Hannah, the super enthusiastic person behind inFalmouth.
I’ve worked in a mixture of places and positions since I graduated 8 years ago - and my combined experience in project management, marketing & design, copywriting, photography and sales has given me the right level of skills, business acumen and energetic ambition to produce a magazine!
I love magazines and I love Falmouth. I genuinely believe it is the best place to live in the world. I’m also very passionate about the power of positivity and want to do something that promotes ‘enjoying the everyday’ and encourages a positive outlook in our local community.
This isn’t the only reason that inFalmouth came about - I believe that there is currently a lack of opportunity for local businesses to promote themselves in a high quality publication that reflects the individuality and character of Falmouth’s independent scene. I’m excited to say that inFalmouth is bringing the opportunity to do just that.
I have been working away with my talented designer friend over the past few months to make this venture a reality. We hope that you’ll join us on the journey!
We are aiming to print 3000 copies of Issue 1 which will be distributed in select locations and businesses in Falmouth (cafes, shops, bars etc.). In order to do this, we need your help to raise enough funds to cover the costs of print and production.
Equally as importantly, whilst we are confident that there will a demand for this, we need to get validation that enough Falmouth businesses want to get involved. Future issues will be funded by advertising and completing a successful Crowdfunder campaign will give us the ‘seal of approval’ for Issue 1.
Any support will be so gratefully received and will go towards the following:
Print (recycled paper): £975
Illustrators, photographers and other contributors: £400
By making a pledge you will be directly funding the launch of the first issue - so we want to offer you the chance to be in it! There are a number of rewards to choose from in which you can have your name or business in the magazine, or if you’d rather we've got some lovely inFalmouth screen printed tote bags.
Otherwise you can simply make a donation for any amount and know that you're playing a key part in this exciting project. :)
Finally, please help us to spread the word by sharing on your social media channels. You can find us on Facebook and Instagram.
THANK YOU SO MUCH ❤️
Will I need to supply my own artwork for the adverts?
Yes - we will supply dimensions once the campaign is complete. We can offer a design service for a fee (contact us on email@example.com and we’ll send you a quote).
Can businesses outside of Falmouth advertise?
As we're focusing on Falmouth as a destination, we are only able to accept advertisers in the Falmouth area. If you're a business outside of Falmouth and would like to help with our Crowdfunding campaign, you are able to make a pledge for any amount.
When’s the deadline for supplying my business logo/ad artwork?
We’ll need your completed ad by Friday 22nd June.
How many issues are you printing each year?
For 2018 we are aiming to print two issues - one in summer, one in winter. If the magazine proves to be a success, we may look to increase to quarterly issues for 2019.
Who is your audience?
We like to think that we are inclusive with our content but anticipate our main audience to be young professionals, students, artists and makers, young families and business owners.
Can I get involved with contributing writing, photography or illustration?
We're always on the lookout for talented creative people in Falmouth and are keen to work with a range of contributors for each issue. If you're interested in contributing, send your details to firstname.lastname@example.org.
How can I get involved with editorial?
If you have ideas for an article, we'd love to hear from you! Contact us on email@example.com.
