In a nutshell, Indie Eats is a Cardiff based independent food delivery startup aimed at offering an alternative to the independent hospitality sector. We charge our indies less in commission than the others and donate 1% back to local charitable initiatives.
Over the past 3 months Indie Eats has been locally trialling its food delivery platform and has successfully made over 350 deliveries. Our platform was recently described by Dusty Knuckle as a "beautifully local, ethical, moral, cute fluffy puppy" in contrast to the "big unethical dog[s]." Having taken a measured approach throughout the trial, we believe we are now ready to push ahead with plans to provide a permanent viable alternative to the wider independent business community in Cardiff.
In order to do this, Indie Eats needs your help. We are looking to raise £6,500 to buyout the software from our developers so we can continue to offer independent businesses 8% commission without worrying about making our own ends meet. Our current outgoing costs are in excess of £650 per month which cover the Indie Eats platform fees and the extra funds we put into supporting our self-employed delivery staff. If we can reach this target, Indie Eats will be able to move forward on plans to expand our service to a greater range of customers, specifically to those who live outside our current 2 mile delivery radius of Cardiff.
With recent Government announcements leading to more restrictions on the hospitality industry, independent businesses will need platforms like Indie Eats more than ever. Please show your support by pledging, sharing and/or ordering through Indie Eats so we can in turn support Cardiff's independent hospitality sector during these difficult times.
