Project Aim
My name is George Sutton I am 15 and currently attending secondary school in year 10. I have been driving from the age of 9 and one day I will be a professional Racing Driver.
The aim of this project is to fund the next step in my career towards reaching and competing in the British Touring Car Championship via the Junior Saloon Car Championship 2016, and Renault Clio Cup Championship 2017.
After Formula 1 the BTCC is the most popular motorsport event in the UK with Live TV coverage and crowds of 30,000 +
I am realistic about the level of funding needed to reach other formulas, but I feel that Touring Cars is achievable with your support.
About the Project
Thanks to the continued support of my family and local sponsors I have been competing in National motorsport for 5 years, and after a successful first year in the Junior Saloon Car Championship
Motorsport is expensive but the rewards for success are high. The season next year will cost in excess of £30,000 thanks to my current sponsors & supporters I already have 50% of this amount available but need to raise a further 50%.
I am trying to help as much as possible, when I am not at school working at weekends and in school holidays, for a professional Kart Team as a Mechanic and driver coach, this helps to pay for traveling costs to and from events.
I am asking for your support not as a donation but as the start of a relationship that will hopefully last the duration of my career. By way of thanks I will try and offer you something in return, maybe just a photograph or email, but it could be a ride with me in the race car or even a drive in the car depending on the level of support you are able to offer. I will personally thank you all for any pledged support offered even if we don’t reach our goal. I will also try and make myself and the car available to you for press releases or promotions if you have a UK registered business.
As part of the Junior Saloon Car championship entrance fee, a percentage from each competitor is donated to the Teenage Cancer Trust. I would like to make a donation to this charity on your behalf so I am going to donate 10% of the total raised to the charity, and will get as much media coverage as possible for this and include everyone who has donated hopefully with a huge group picture in the local and National press.
Overfunding
If I am fortunate enough to reach above 100% of my goal, i will offer a further 50% of the overfunding to a charity of choice from the highest backer in this project.
