As some of you may know, on the 8th April 2020 we sadly lost our loved one - our grandma....NANCY BENNETT (of Lindfield estate north)
For everyone that knew Nancy she was a very familiar friendly face and was very well known in the wilmslow/Alderley edge area.
Nancy contributed most her life to both the Wilmslow & Alderley edge community, dedicating most of her working life to Alderley edge Cricket Club where she remained working up until her recent passing. She also in her spare time used to run the beverages for the wilmslow’s Elderly bridge club hosted at the royal British legion and the males “Probus” club hosted at Chorley village hall.
Obviously due to covid-19 and the current governments social distancing measures we were only allowed to have 10 people at the funeral service. As much as this was super interment for us as a family to pay our final respects it was Increasingly difficult and hard to accept that everyone who knew her couldn’t pay their respects in the normal manner by attending the service.
We will be however having a memorial service in memory of her at Alderley edge Cricket Club when government restrictions relax and allow for this to take place. Everyone will be welcome to pay their respects and share memories of her.
However, in the meantime and In memory of Nancy we have all decided as a family to look to raise some money to donate to the ”Manchester kidney’s for life” team.
The reason we have chosen this charity is because the incredible team at Manchester Royal Infirmary have worked tirelessly caring for our ’Nancy’ since the 20000 and have given us 20 years of extra life with our beloved grandma.
Nancy was lucky enough to achieve 2 kidney transplants via Kidneys for life in the last 20 years with the most recent one being in 2018. With out this incredible service we would have never got to experience any of our great memories nor would she have been able to dedicate her time to her work at AECC and her other commitments as well as all of all of her friends.
Myself, my brother and sister and anyone else who wishes to join will be organising a bike ride from Manchester to Blackpool as part of the fund raising. I will keep everyone posted about this event for anyone interested or wishing to take part.
Anyone that can donate a little spare change in this pressing time for this incredible service I will be forever grateful of - Thankyou in advance
I would also like to thank everyone that has personally showed their support to me and my family at this very testing time. It means the absolute world to us!
Lots of love David and family x
