On the morning of the 16th of January 2019 we got the call that our good friend Jackson had taken his own life, my heart just sank. I refused to believe that it was him and it took me a few days to get my head around the news, however it’s something that I will never fully understand. Jackson was a fun loving, easygoing and by every single meaning one of the most ‘excellent’ friends around. He had been struggling for over 20 years with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), he had always been so open to me and to his friends and family about his troubles but unfortunately it got the better of him on the 15th January this year.
There isn’t really a way to fully describe Fred Bear in words, apart from him being the most kid hearted, thoughtful, generous person who had a cheeky little grin that could light up a whole room. He leaves behind a legacy that he has created around the Stoke-on-Trent music scene, being one of the most loved and inspirational DJs around and my god that man knew his music. Through the time that I have known him he has introduced me to so many different genres, djs and artists from all corners of the globe, that have helped structure and shape mine and so many other peoples lives. If you are a music lover you will understand the influence it has on you and those around you. It can easily make you the person you are today. Which is obviously one of the reasons, amongst others, why Jackson was such an amazing person. Let’s face it we’ve all dyed our hair, worn eye make up and painted our nails at some point... we have, haven’t we?
Jackson’s final cover photo was a quote from the 90s film Bill and Teds Excellent Adventrure “BE EXCELLENT TO EACH OTHER.” and it couldn’t be more fitting to who he was, and what he stood for. It’s a quote that I, and I’m sure a lot of his friends and family will now stick by for the rest of their lives. So I thought it would be appropriate to create a piece of artwork that soley describes the quote, incorporating Jackson’s love for art, movies, music and obviously Bill and Ted.
I will be selling the prints at £10.00 for the A3 version £7.00 for the A4 or £5.00 for an A6 version, with 100% of the profit going to Mind Charity North Staffs who have helped Jackson and now his family a great deal in the past and to this present day.

I currently run the online store for Terraces Clothing, so the prints will also be available to order from there. It’s located on Marsh Street in Hanley, and with it being a former work place of Jackson, and a business that he helped grow exceedingly in the time he worked for us, I thought it would be a great place for people to come in and purchase one.
If you don’t want the print but want to dontate then that’s absolutely fine, it’s all going to an amazing cause that need our help!
Thank you all so much for taking time out to read this, let’s celebrate his life the way he would want us to.
