New stretch target

On Thursday the 23rd of November 2017, my uncle took his own life leaving behind a wife of 17 years and two children, the youngest only 9. Our family is overwhelmed by the loss of the gregarious man that supported us all through so much.

Dave was a headstrong, caring and considerate man the whole of his life. Always showing other people the brighter side of life and never leaving a bar tab unpaid. He left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered with his sense of humour, charisma and loud mouth, you couldn't walk into a room and not notice Dave, he was the life of the party. If you ever met him, he'd never leave you without a smile on your face, a drink in your hand and a warm loving hug.

But even the happiest people can be sad inside. Dave suffered on and off with depression but found it hard to talk about because he thought it made him less of a man. I'm making this crowd funder because I want to spread the word that talking about what's in your head and accepting help doesn't make you less of a man, it makes you stronger as a person.

In the UK the highest suicide rate, according to samaritans, was among men aged 40-44 with over 4,600 deaths reported in the year 2015. I want to change that number so less families have to suffer the loss we have.

Please consider donating to my project raising money for Mind mental health charity in honour of David Ferriby, a man who would move mountains to help others, regardless of what it took. Our goal is set to £1000 but I have set a £2000 stretch goal because we want to raise as much as possible. Do not worry, if we don't reach either of the targets or just the stretch goal, all money you have donated will still go to Mind when the project ends. Please try to donate, as well as sharing this with your friends and family, in the hope that we can make a difference.

You can share this project on social media websites such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram etc. As well as copying the link to send in emails. If anyone is having trouble with this you can contact me via my Facebook or email me at . Thank you.
