For centuries, women have fought for our right to be heard. We have punched, kicked, screamed, argued, spoken out, protested and even died for our rights. We have fought for our freedom – to vote, to be treated equally, to be paid fairly, to love freely, to have a voice. And yet our struggles still go unseen, our pain is still ignored, our sicknesses still go untreated, our opinions are still dismissed, our choices are still condemned, our voices are diminished, and our bodies are not our own.
For International Women’s Day 2020, a group of creative women are collaborating their talents to devise a new theatrical production. We aim to explore inequality, diversity, relationships, female sexuality motherhood, illness, impairment, trauma and the everyday experiences of having a vagina in the 21st century.
By donating to our project, you are supporting an all-female production that will inspire, develop and empower new and emerging artists. Help us raise awareness of important issues, help us evolve society’s understanding of our challenges and give us a microphone so we can crank up the volume.
