The children of our school with the School Council and Staff have asked for a sensory garden, as well as an outdoor reading area, making the meadow into a sports field, making new seating and purchasing other play equipment for our younger children. The PTFA are fully supported in all of our fundraising efforts by the Children, Parents, Staff, local community and the Parishiners from the attached Church. But with the amount that we have to raise this year (approximately £30,000) we need a lot of help. We are only a very small school and without additional help we will not be able to raise the money that is needed to carry out the work. A partner of one of the TA's in our school is a Woods Craftsman and has already started to make a structure in the middle of what will be a sensory garden - it is made from local wood. The Oak is from the Brockhampton Estate in Herefordshire, and the Cedar is from woods in Shropshire. There are also a group of St John Ambulance Cadets who have offered to come and dig over and plant in the sensory garden once we have got to that stage. We all know that the tasks that we have undertaken to help raise money for this year is huge, but we are hoping that we can get some of the money from various fundraising events, and applying to different funding pots. We are all dedicated and hopeful that we can get the money together. The only thing that we want is to see the smiles and joy on the childrens faces when we can make their dreams come true by making the much needed improvements to the school grounds. This will not only benefit the children at our school now but for the foreseeable future. And the Staff and Children will be able to use the school grounds to their full extent in the beautiful setting on the side of the Malvern Hills.
