Providing timely, effective and accessible mental health support to children across Yorkshire through counselling, peer support and more.

by Danny Hutchinson in West Yorkshire, United Kingdom

Invictus Wellbeing, established in 2015, provide essential support and projects for children and young people struggling with their mental health in West Yorkshire.

Our services ensure that children and young people get timely, accessible and effective mental health support through counselling, therapeutic sessions or group work.

We also believe that linking with sports organisations, other charitable organisations and creative charities, we can reduce the risk in young people needing to access mental health services later down the line.

Therefore we are a preventative and early intervention mental health service which shows results time after time.

Our staff and volunteer team are made up of psychotherapists, art and creative therapists, social workers, youth workers, teachers and SEN workers. We therefore have a strong core of multidisciplinary staff and volunteers with a range of specialisations and strengths. We can therefore work with a young person and adapt our approach to their needs.

Invictus was founded due to our founder and owner, Chris Georgiou, struggling with his own mental health throughout his childhood. He and the rest of our team are passionate about changing the landscape for young people's mental health in Yorkshire and beyond.

Your donations will go towards many of our projects, from our core services to new and exciting pilot projects. Please see a list of our services below:

The BREW Project - BREW stands for Building resilience and emotional wellbeing; this project aims to offer young people struggling with their mental health support as quickly as possible either face to face or remotely.

School Counselling and Therapeutic Services - We work in schools across Calderdale, Bradford and Kirklees offering essential services to ensure young people facing trauma, bereavement and mental health challenges the support they need through creative approaches.

COPE Peer Bereavement Support Service - Our peer support service for young people who have lost family or a close one in traumatic or sudden circumstances i.e. through suicide. The service is there to ensure young people know they are not alone in what they are going through and that they can always go to someone to speak about how they're feeling.

Try High Holiday Club - Try High is a partnership project wit Halifax Panthers RLFC and other sports clubs where we use sport as a vehicle to deliver sessions and interventions on mental health, anger management and other key issues for KS2 students.

Watch This Space Project - This project focuses on building confidence, resilience and self esteem through art, music, drama and other creative approaches.

And more... - We are always working to address the needs of young people in our community and will always strive to pilot new initiatives and to understand what young people actually want and need through support and opportunities.

Please consider supporting us so that we can continue to offer thousands of young people each year with support, projects and opportunities to better themselves.
