As part of my final year at the Conservatoire, I have chosen to organise a collaborative concert of art and music for my major project, with any profits made from the final event will be donated to the mental health charity, 'Mind'. The event will showcase new music from Birmingham composers and explorative art work striving to illustrate and understand the colourful world of synaesthesia. An immersive experience of colour, curiosity and collaborations - the aim of the project is to learn about and try to understand the world of synaesthesia, exploring the colours and shapes they see reflected and associated in the music.
The compositions will be created in collaboration with synesthetes, creating a brief depending on what musical element resonates the most with them. This will then lead me to producing a range of artwork to try and interpret myself, the images and colours they can see upon hearing the new composition. The concert will be set out as though in a gallery with a live artist reacting to the whole concert.
This project requires many art resources and expenses for the concert to take place, I have decided to set this funding page up to try and gather as many extra funds as I can to purchase resources to enable to create the artwork to the scale I hope to achieve!
I would be immensely grateful to any help and support you feel you can give!
