Raising funds to get free copies of the book I BELONG HERE to marginalised groups to help create a sense of belonging for all.
Anita Sethi was racially abused on a train journey through the North with the racist man telling her to go back to where she's from (she was born and bred in the North) - her first book I BELONG HERE grew out of this experience and chronicles her subsequent journey of reclamation walking through the natural landscapes of the North, through the Pennines - the backbone of Britain - as a way of saying: I do belong here! Free copies of I BELONG HERE raised from donations will be given out at train stations throughout the UK as well as to low-income and marginalised groups. The I Belong Here foundation is aiming to raise enough to donate 2000 free copies initially (that's £30k), working with partner organisations to distribute books.
Support bookshops by ordering a copy for yourself from a bookshop below & donate here for free copies for those who couldn't afford one.
This initiative is part of the I Belong Here foundation, in memoriam Sophie Christopher (1991-2019).
