www.VOTEie.org is where you will find all the information about Scott Barkwith's campaign to represent Evelyn Ward SE8 as an independant candidate. The election is on October 13th 2016. There is no party machine or party politics running this campaign. Just local people who want local representation on local issues that affect Evelyn Ward residents.
Scott Barkwith's statement:
“I am standing as an independent candidate on 13th October. I live here, in this ward, with my family and I believe that this community deserves better.
I want more social and truly affordable housing built in the area. I want to ensure that all the funds raised from multi-million pound developments come back into the area to improve schools, play areas, parks and green spaces, cultural and sports facilities, roads, pavements, cycle routes and community centres.
I want a more accessible ward with traffic free links to green spaces. I want to attract new businesses to vacant commercial units and create local jobs. I want an end to fly-tipping. I want to work with residents to create an achievable project list that will benefit everyone.
I want to enable local groups to run events and activities in public spaces. I want us all to be involved in planning decisions so we get a say in how this area is shaped.
I want our voice to be heard within Lewisham Council. We can only do this if we are free from party politics.”
