I am sad - The real people outside social media

Film sadness all around the world and share real people and their stories. An honest view into everyday lives outside our phone screens.

We did it!

On 21st Dec 2017 we successfully raised £850 with 40 supporters in 49 days

Hey there,

After having gone through a rough year, I found myself lost, stuck, and not feeling happy. I started questioning everyone's happiness, so I initiated a survey meant to find out how other people feel "offline" - the real people outside social media. The results were great, well from one point of view, because it proved that we're all afraid to show online our sad side.

So I decided to go deeper and talk to people about a topic that not many feel comfortable approaching: sadness. And here we are today. I started a Crowdfunding page (https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/i-am-sad) meant to help me make a documentary about sadness - "Allow me to be sad". I plan on buying equipment and travel to different countries to interview people about what feeling sad means to them.

I want to explore the other side of things and challenge these beautiful concepts of happiness and sadness, as two feelings that are both parts of a perfectly normal human being.

Allow me to be sad!

The budget for this project goes to:

* Video equipment so I can film this documentary

* Cover travel expenses (for interviews)

* Hire someone to help me with post-production work (editing and all that jazz)

* Submit this documentary to film festivals

Because I want to give something back as a thank you for your donations, I am making these little woollen berets. Choose a reward to get yours :)

Thank you very much. Keep up with me on social media: @roxialbescu or email me: roxi.albescu@gmail.com

Big hugs,

Roxi Albescu
