The global COVID-19 pandemic has created a very uncertain landscape for millions of British small businesses, which is going to make it very challenging for businesses to survive. it has also added an extra layer of complexity to human resources.
I have spent a great deal of my working life working in human resources, and I have also been a customer of the big corporate HR providers. It was the customer service that got me thinking that with my knowledge, skill and experience I can provide the same level of service but more ad hoc when the client wants advice and not because they have to sign up or years and years just to get a different advisor each time they call, be a faceless customer of a large corporation and pay out monthly fees for something they only use occasionally.
WHY HURRAH FOR HR?
I want to put back the Human Relationship back into HR. I have all the advice and support at my fingertips but I only charge when the client needs me and they continuity of speaking to me and building up that all important client/provider relationship.
I have the additional skills as a trained coach and mentor and can offer one-to-one or group training on all things HR related. My forte is establishing and developing a good rapport with my clients and being able to advise honestly, fairly and impartially - sometimes with additional humour included as well!
I found myself suddenly single as lockdown was starting to ease and therefore struggling to pay my bills and fund a business which I am passionate about.
I have already received positive feedback on the name of my business and people are starting to engage due to promotions on Facebook. I have built a free website but cannot yet afford to upgrade, which will be essential to allow more people to access the business and what it can do for them more fully.
I received this recent testimonial from a lady on my local community Facebook page: "Thanks, Josie, I very much enjoyed our talk and understand my situation more clearly now."
I also want to be able to use the website to interact with my clients and provide them with on-line training including webinars, but need some professional IT support to ensure this is done properly and efficiently. Most of the funding will be used to build a solid IT platform for the business to help it grow and also to make sure it is marketed out to enable it to reach the whole of the UK.
I also want to use some of the funding to ensure my car stays mechanically sound as I will need to visit clients (socially distanced of course!)and pay off the finance to free up money each month going forward.
I thought I had a job waiting to go back to in a salon where I was working as the Business Director but splitting from my ex put paid to that and therefore impacted on my projected earnings which were to live and fund the business.
