I am trying to raise some funds to help make my yoga classes extra special, with good quality equipment and things to help people relax like blankets, props and pretty lighting. I will be providing classes on a donation basis to help make yoga affordable for everyone. I have been working with disadvantaged and vulnerable groups for the last few years, and more recently facilitating yoga classes with these groups, for example on mental health wards and with the amazing Luminary Bakery in East London. This has inspired me to make it my aim to provide this enjoyable and empowering exercise for people in the community who might not usually be able to access it, for example those on a low wage or no wage. Classes will be provided on a 'pay what you feel' basis so that people only pay what they can afford that week. I will be working from a reclaimed space in a more deprived area of South London. The equipment could also be used in my other classes, for example at the fantastic women's charity Luminary Bakery in East London- a project which trains up vulnerable women in various life skills including professional baking!
