- I have spent 20 years managing depression and anxiety plus dysprexia and mainly unemployed. I found support through a garden centre in Chingford, who helped me find a purpose and a love of gardening. Over the past 3 years I have managed to gain several qualifications in horticulture.
Losing employment at the start of the outbreak hit me very hard.
Therefore, I have decided to focus on a new dream, starting a local plant nursery from home. I can ensure I stay well, contribute to the community and begin to build infrastructure and a good name. But I need resources and support to do this.
I would like to develop eventually to be able to really make a difference leading group involvement with growing and supplying plants. I want to help other people struggling with their mental health through inclusion and nature.
Plants and nature helped me find a safe space and a path to follow. I hope I can help open those avenues for others.
It is difficult to put all my hopes here, but I love growing supporting others, so I have to try. A chance is all that I need, where would we be if no one was given a chance.
Thanks for reading this, hope to hear from you soon.
