I have become an avid lockdown runner.
This new hobby of mine has manifested into a challenge i had put upon myself at the start of lockdown numero 3.
I am currently finishing week 10 of my 20 week training plan to run a SUB-4hr MARATHON...
Nearly halfway through my training i have decided to raise some funds for my village's football team's. These are a huge part of our community and lockdown has obviously put a big stop to our fundraising and games which are the only things that keep the teams alive!
About the sub 4 hour marathon.
Running 26.2 miles in 4 hours requires a high level of fitness. Fewer than 25% of marathoners have broken the 4 hour barrier.
The 4 hour marathon requires an average pace of 9 minutes 9 seconds per mile, which is a moderately fast pace for most runners. Given the unforgiving climbs and hills of The Lizard this will not be an easy feat!
My training plan.
I am writing this in week 10 of a training plan i have made myself. If you know me, you know i am a big advocate of fitness and dedicate my studies to health and fitness. I am confident in my training and should hopefully achieve my goal in 10 weeks time.
What this money will go towards.
Hopefully this money can help buy the three teams new kit and certain equipment that the club currently doesn't have. If we raise a larger amount this money will go towards the longevity of the future teams.
Please donate what you can big or small the lads will appreciate it!
