I am raising money for mental health charity Mind by recording original piano music. You will get royalty-free downloads to use as you wish.

Where does the money go to?

My chosen charity for this project is Mind and all donations received will go towards supporting the work they do.

Please evaluate this project, gauge what you think it is worth to you, and donate what you can.

What is the music like?

The pieces I will record are in various styles - some jazzy, some anime-influenced, some Debussy, some Chopin, some symphonic metal transcriptions (see http://www.youtube.com/afpianoworks). These come more naturally to me.

All music you will receive in the form of digital downloads will be original and royalty-free.

What can I do with it?

This means you can:

Use the music in any of your videos or films as a backing instrumental (although it would be nice for me to get a mention, if possible);

Use the music as background music for any event or function you organise;

Use the music if you run a cafe etc without paying royalties to the PRS.

Give the music as a gift to your loved ones

About Mind

Mind offers two confidential mental health information services, the Mind Infoline and the Legal Line. The network of independent local Minds are run by local people, for local people, and provide support like counselling, advocacy, housing and more.

Is the piano music any good? How do I know you're not going to play two hours of "Chopsticks"?

Well, I am a professional musician and teacher. You can see instrumental covers of songs I have done (http://www.youtube.com/afpianoworks) to get a rough idea of the kind of quality you are going to get. Just to re-iterate, the music I am recording is original and partly improvised from compositions I have done.

When can I get the downloads?

I have recorded some tracks (about 30 min) but they need editing. It is time-consuming fitting it around my day-job but I hope to finish it in about a month or two. I can send it to you via Facebook when the whole thing is complete.

Go on - just forego a coffee (or your preferred choice or beverage).

Help someone find the mental help and support they need. All I am asking from each individual is a small donation, what you would normally pay for a takeaway coffee (or more if you can afford) to go towards this project. What you donate will go towards providing Mind with the resources towards providing better mental health care for society.

Rewards

This project offers rewards in return for your donation.

£20 or more

Personalise your song

Send me some parameters describing the music you envision, and I will create it. You can tell me "a song about love / a happy song / melancholic / sad etc" or some general description and I will create one using those parameters.
