Hothouse Theatre was formed in 1998, in Nottingham, by a group of keen thespians eager to carry on some of the work of the Next Stage project once the County Council were no longer able to fund it.

The idea was to give people a chance to have a go at doing all sorts of theatre roles needed to put on small scale, pub theatre projects.

Over the years we have put on loads of different productions with the emphasis on doing new and different things as well as giving people a chance to act, direct and write for the stage.

We are planning to celebrate our 20th season with a series of theatrical extravaganzas giving a sample of the diversity of our work.

Classic Ghost Stories for Christmas - 4 classic scary pieces of prose brought to life in scary and not so scary venues, using our unique 'Live Radio Style' performances.

Shakespeare Showcase - a chance for new actors and new directors to have a go with some of the best scenes from the Bard of Stratford on Avon.

A Crisis in the Life of Norbert Grimshaw - a return to Hothouse Theatre' first ever production. The fringe classic with far too much to say about, numbers, buscuits and paperclips.
