We have built a new football pitch , but to use it we must install catch nets, buy goals and have the right equipment to maintain it

The Horsham and Shipley Community Project provide a range of social, healthy outdoor activities to get people active and to improve their health and well being.

Visit us at our website.....

We run a successful Veteran's Football team for the over 35's.

We have set up a walking football team that, with an age range from mid 50's to the 80's, provides an opportunity to rekindle old skills many thought were long forgotten, but are still there.

We have established the Shipley Petanque Club and have a growing number of people coming along to play on our full sized purpose built Petanque pistes.

And we have our Men's Shed. An idea introduced from Australia, that encourages guys to get together and in a really sociable atmosphere, get creative.

We have built a perfect football pitch on what was a sloping wasteland., and we wish to invite junior football teams to play  7v7 and 9v9 football here and for our own veteran's (over 35) and Walking football (50's to 80's) teams to train and play here too.

But the Local Planners require that we must first install 4 metre high catch nets to stop the ball from getting into the road. These are not cheap.

We also need a number of different sized goals for the different age groups that will play here.

We also need to keep the weeds at bay, the grass cut and nourished, and need equipment and materials to do this.

Meanwhile at our Men's Shed we have a growing band of creative guys eager to   'Make, Do and Mend'.

They do great lines in bird boxes, bat boxes, benches , tables and plant stands, children's toys  etc

And to do this they need materials...wood and timber.

We aim to provide them with a wood store stocked full of timber.

When they then sell their wares, they can replenish their wood store from their profits and ultimately be self sufficient.

This in turn will enable the Horsham and Shipley Project to focus on some of the other new and exciting ideas we are working on, with the aim to continue to encourage people out of their homes and join us in social, healthy, outdoor activities.

We are working with Age UK and the Alzheimer's society to support older folk, and often their carers, to come along and get involved. We want to widen this reach.

If you wish to come and see what we are doing please come along.

If you wish to support us with a donation  we would be delighted.
