Our vision is to bring the therapeutic qualities of horses to people in the community who have suffered both mentally and physically from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. It has been widely recognised that those vulnerable to social isolation and poor mental health have experienced increased fear, anxiety and stress, made much worse by the ongoing restrictions. We all know someone who has been affected.
Horses are adept and non verbal communication and connecting with a horse can be a powerful and deeply moving experience. Equine Facilitated Learning is a gentle, non judgmental way of becoming more self aware, reducing anxiety and nurturing confidence and self esteem. Working with our horses has been a turning point for many of our clients and we want to help many more people, young and old to access the opportunities that our project can offer in a safe, comforting environment.
This is what Becky said about her experience - " Being with horses has given me confidence to communicate effectively and regulate my emotions. They have helped me calm my mind, be in my body and trust myself again"
