to develop an equestrian first aid app to give horse owners clear, easily accessible first aid information for treating their horses

The team I have employed to assist me with development is each an expert in their own field, I have an equine specialist veterinary practitioner, app design company, solicitor and an accountant, I have attended business planning, book keeping and equine first aid courses.

The focus of the Equestrian First Aid App is to make the app as clear and easy to use as possible, with content which is accessible wherever the user is.

The first phase of the app will give horse owners access to first aid information on a variety of equestrian issues, which will synchronise when the user is offline so that the latest information is available when the user is offline. Owners will not need to register with the Equestrian First Aid App to use it and on downloading, will get instant access. The app will be free to access for a year, after which users will pay a small fee per month. Information will be split by sections so the user can easily find what they need, whether it’s general information or instructions to handle an emergency situation. From an administrative point of view, content will be easy to add, and new sections can be added from the administrative website if required.

Later phases of this project will include additional features for owners, such as access to details for services such as vets (emergency and non-emergency), farriers, saddlers, transport, massage and tuition, access to listings of horses for sale and a shop for equipment and third-party insurance. They will also include the introduction of geo-located advertising and a new Role, that of a vet user; vet users will pay a small monthly fee to advertise their services on the app and be contacted by owners in need of a vet.

The main objectives of the Equestrian First Aid App are:

  • To create an app which is clear and easy to use, providing information to owners at a glance
  • To give owners access to content offline, so it’s available wherever they are
  • To allow Equestrian First Aid App administrators to easily manage content on the app

    Key Audience

The audience for the Equestrian First Aid App is horse owners who are not medically trained and need a resource to give first aid information.

The key to the success of the Equestrian First Aid App lies in creating an app which allows users to browse and search information with ease,
