About Our Project...
The Hidden Kitchen & Dining
The Hidden Kitchen & Dining St Ives will be an exclusive private dining experience located right in the heart of St Ives. The aim is to create a multi-purpose venue that feels intimate, homely & rich. We will showcase local seasonal produce within our menus and celebrate local culture within the premises.
Our venue is being renovated & deocrated by local tradesman and will finished with local artwork & photography. Our dining room design has been created with the local community in mind, so that it can be used & enjoyed by all. When the dining room is not in use, we would also like local clubs & groups to be able to use the venue as a meeting space.
What do we need?
To realise our business dreams we need £10000 to complete the renovation of our dining venue and upgrade the kitchen, to be able to provide a unique dining experience. When we first began the process of renovating the premises we discovered that a large proportion of the wooden floor was beyond repair and there were several areas of damage to the walls. We have already sorted out these problems and, as you can see below, have brought a new lease of life to the premises.
A beautiful centerpiece table, made from cornish ash, has already been commissioned for the dining area. We have managed to source 1950's vintage teak chairs, a sofa and a dresser to furnish the space. However to complete the renovation and make it more luxurious we would like to dress the 2 large sash windows with blinds and have a curtain between the dining room/bar area, to give the space a more intimate vibe. We would also like to install better lighting to the venue, so that we can take the dining room from day to night.
On a practical level we want to be able to provide all of the facilities you would expect at a high end dining experience and need to upgrade the kitchen and bar facilities. We need to upgrade the kitchen extraction system, add more shelving and buy some essential cooking equipment. In the bar area we need to install a wine & bottle refridgerator, extra shelving and would also like to provide barista facilities for our guests.
Due to the extra work we have needed to do to repair the premises, the money we had set aside for the redecoration has gradually decreased. However we love the venue and are in it for the long run, so it has been in our best interest to fix the issues now rather than later (well the building is over 145 years old after all)!
What can we give you?
In return for your support we will give you some really special culinary experiences, ranging from carefully selected wines to compliment our food right up to your own private dining experience in our beautiful venue. We pride ourselves on creating intimate, fun and unique hospitality services. At the very least we can promise you the opportunity to relax, eat & laugh with your friends and family.
Who are we?
"We met 6 years ago when we both worked for a high-end chalet holiday company, as chalet staff in France. We have focused our career together on serving VIP clients and running their private homes/villas, acquiring a number of new skills along the way. Our last job together was working at a commercial shoot in North Devon, cooking & caring for private & corporate guests in an exclusive dining venue on the 3000 acres estate. It has always been our aim to work towards owning our own business together. We are a creative and compassionate partnership, striving to challenge our personal potential on a daily basis. We believe our key strengths will enable us to successfully create a unique dining experience, using the skills we have acquired in our career together so far."
