Herts Student Enterprise shop

We are building a shop at the University of Hertfordshire where students can test trade and validate their new ideas with 25,000 students!

Unfortunately, this project was not successful

Our Background

We are the University of Hertfordshire Entrepreneur Society. We promote student entrepreneurship through various events and initiatives throughout the year. Our goal is to connect like-minded people to work together and develop new experiences.

Our student-run society is seeking to help future student business owners, by providing them with a platform to test their products or services. We are raising money to purchase much needed equipment that will enable and empower budding entrepreneurs.

What we're doing and why it's awesome

Your support will help us purchase a gazebo style pavilion where students can sell their products or services. The portability of the gazebo means students can test their selling skills across 2 campuses. This valuable interaction with potential customers will mean student entrepreneurs can gather empirical data for research.

Our portable shop provides every budding entrepreneur with an opportunity to test their venture. With over 25,000 students at the university, this campaign could be the launch pad of the next Tesco or Fortnum & Mason.

We’re asking for your support to empower entrepreneurial activity and provide practical experience of running a small business with low risk. With a large student population in Hatfield, we see this as an ideal platform to stimulate the business mix of the Town.

Who will benefit from this?

  • Students - Will gain valuable experience and support for their idea with an opportunity to make real revenue.
  • The wider economy – the project provides a platform to develop the venture to start in the local community away from campus

Where will your money go?

  • We will purchase an enclosed custom gazebo and other equipment, to enable us to make available as a portable shop.
