Helping the homeless

To bring the community together to help one of our own get back in control of his life. Everyone deserves equal opportunity.

We did it!

On 2nd May 2018 we successfully raised £663 of £400 target with 55 supporters in 56 days

I honestly can’t believe in this day and age we still have people that are homeless.

I’ve just had an in-depth conversation with Lee the homeless man at Aldi in Crayford.

In November the property he was living in was sold, the new owners decided they didn’t want to rent the property out. Lee was served with an eviction notice.

He took this notice to the council and was told he didn’t meet criteria to get any help from the council.

Since this happened Lee has lived on the streets with his dog roxi who he’s had since she was 6 weeks old. She is now 9, He is now faced with the decision of getting her rehomed as he feels like he can no longer go on living on the streets.

He can’t get a job without an address, yet he can’t get somewhere to live without money! He also needs somewhere that’s going to let him take his dog.

It’s a vicious circle!

He has been offered a room on Crayford way for £100 a week, but needs a months rent upfront. This will then give him the time to apply for housing benefit. Once he has this he’s been promised a job in KFC in Crayford.

It’s breaking my heart seeing this man absolutely broken. And I am making it my mission to get our community together to pay it forward and help him find his feet.

After all, any of us could find ourselves in a similar situation.

50p or a £1 from each person could dramatically change his life.
