TOUGH MUDDER CHALLENGE - FUND RAISING FOR HEIDI
A couple of friends and I will be taking part in the Tough Mudder, a 12 mile assault course (gulp!) to help raise funds for Heidi Luckraft who has been suffering from Lyme disease for the past four years. Lyme disease is an horrendously debilitating, progressive disease that often goes misdiagnosed for years. When Heidi was finally diagnosed the disease was too advanced for the treatment offered here in the Uk to have any effect.
Heidi desperately needs treatment that is not currently offered here in the U.K. She has had some success with treatment in Germany but more is needed to get this Super women back on her feet - literally! Heidi is so poorly and in so much pain that she is often unable to function. She has had to give up running her own business and working as a performer which she throughly enjoyed and is now wheelchair bound. Without treatment Heidi will continue to get worse.
Heidi has spent years raising money for sick children and those in need and has worked tirelessly with children in hospitals, often for free, bringing them joy and laughter when they most desperately needed it.
Heidi now needs our help!
My friends and I will be getting pushed to our limits over the 12 mile assault course but we are prepared to get tired, wet, muddy and probably pretty terrified at times because it will all be worth it if we can raise some money for Heidi and help to make a difference to her health and her family.
We cant do it without you though peeps so please donate as much or as little as you can. Every little bit helps. You may decide to pledge some money; £1 per obstacle ( just so we don't chicken out of any!) or 50p per mile or just a donation for being mad enough for doing it in the first place! Whatever you decide, it will all help and that is the most important thing x
In return for your generosity, apart from the fact that you can rest easy in the knowledge that you are a good person and have helped to provide much needed, life saving treatment for Heidi; we promise to post lots of embarrassing pictures of us flailing about in the mud so that you can have a really good laugh at our expense!
Lyme disease is a killer- don't let it take anyone else.
