The Helping Hand service will support isolated elderly people to have a better quality of life and to be part of their communities .

by KAG Advocacy in Richmond, Greater London, England

KAG is a small  charity that has been supporting vulnerable people in Richmond and other areas for almost  30 years.

Now we are seeking your help so we can  extend our “Helping Hand” service, for elderly people living on their own in London Borough of Richmond.

Evidence shows that half of  the people over 75 in Richmond live on their own and half do not have  contact with other people that they needed.

This can have a profoundly negative effect on general and mental health .

We need your help so we can support more  people, at no cost to  themselves.

Our volunteers will support them in many ways, such  as : meeting regularly , going shopping, helping with bills, going to hospital and doctors appointments and just spending time, listening and talking with them.

All of the money that you send to us will be used for recruiting , training and developing the volunteers, supporting the partnerships  and monitoring the service.

For every £25 a volunteer can support a person for a month.

For every £300, a volunteer will be able to support a person for a whole year.

Please see the KAG website at www.kag.org.uk for more details of the “Helping Hands” Service and all of the other work that KAG does.
