To build a place for local children to learn and for teachers to stay

by Liv Glassey in Tanzania, Western Region, Ghana

This is something that I feel very strongly about. I know that in the UK we take a lot of things for granted, including education. I'm lucky enough to go to a very good school and I'm currently studying for my GCSE's. But Tanzania is a very under-developed part of Africa and unfortunately, there aren't places for children to receive the education they deserve. I saw a programme a few years back which showed people in Africa trying their very best to bring themselves out of poverty. One man said, I don't want hand-outs, I want the tools to build myself a future. This programme will help ensure that the children in Tanzania have access to an education which can give them the tools they need to build a life for themselves. The project is run through World Challenge and has been organised by my school. It is part of the Christian faith to help improve the lives of others and give back wherever we can. The money raised for this project will fund my journey to Tanzania and contribute to the overall project costs. I am so excited to have been given the opportunity to travel there next year and hope that the money I raise here and through other efforts (raffles, sponsored events etc.) I will have enough to go. Thank you for reading my page. Love, Liv. x
