We are a wellness studio in Southfields, South West London, offering yoga, Pilates, massage therapy, Ayurveda, and other holistic treatments. Serving our community has always been central to our vision, and over the past 7 years we have remained committed to helping our neighbourhood thrive, both physically and mentally. We are proud that so many people speak highly of our studio and consider Samsara Mind and Body to be a safe and inclusive haven to relax and unwind, and recover from the stresses of modern life.
Along with many other community spaces, Samsara has been badly hit by the two U.K. national lockdowns this year. And even though we quickly and successfully moved our classes online, we lost many months of therapy revenues which we couldn’t replace in any way. When we reopened, not only did we have to reduce the class sizes and introduce longer gaps between treatments, but many of our clients remained shielding or in isolation, which meant the business continued to suffer. The recent change for London to move to Tier 4 has been a further blow which sets us back yet again at what is normally our busiest time of the year. Our amazing local community has been extremely supportive, but sadly, due to our landlord’s insistence on full rent and several other property issues, we have reached a critical time for our business and we fear we may not survive.
We are asking for your help to continue serving our community in the years to come. We believe that as the country is nearing the end of this terrible pandemic, Samsara is needed more than ever to provide yoga and mindfulness, and to encourage everyone to live healthier lifestyles. In the period we were allowed to open, it was so heart warming to see how much people valued human touch and healing. We are certain that there is a clear need for businesses like ours moving forward into the future.
By helping Samsara, you will help support many therapists and teachers doing what they are so passionate about. We employ over 30 different teachers, therapists and reception staff, who all depend on our studio weathering this crisis. We know there are so many businesses out there that need support, but we hope that the benefits we offer our community will inspire you to donate whatever you can afford.
Any and all help would be appreciated! Any donations we receive will be matched by the Mayor of London’s Back to Business Fund, up to a maximum of £5,000.
