To help me attend summer shows and raise money for charity at the same time.

by Trevor The Barber in Lane End, England, United Kingdom

Trevor the barber here....Four years ago I put together on my own a 40's style show barber shop After being made unemployed working for a barbershop chain for over 5yrs. A friend of mine mentioned why dont you do a show barbershp, as I liked going to all the military shows any way, why not be part of them.

Three months of hard work making, painiting and buying all the items required to put a barber shop together....The paint was even still wet driving to my ever first show at Quex Park.

The overall look and feel is very much 40's style and whilel i cut mens or boys hair, I chat about the history of the barber, what is was like during the blitz ,staying at home and working in a village barbershop in the 40's ....education hair cut, one customer said...lol....When people look in to my show shop for the first time, I normally get a "WOW" every time........I even dress as a 40's barber with a smart shirt and tie on with a waist coat....I have at times grown a mustache to add to the 40's look..(Soon came off as I did't like it,lol)

Every timem I book to attend a show, I sometimes have to pay a picth fee....on top of that I have to pay for a van hire and fuel to get there and back....I pay for a secure lock up every month of £86 to store all the shop all year round, plus my own store insurance per year.  Not earning much working full time myself, I do find it hard to find the van hire and fuel and pitch fee to attend the shows. Not forgetting that £2 of the hair cut prize is raised gets donated to a choosen military charity at each show I attend. one show I raised £220.60 for Uk Homes for Heroes which was a great result to help them. One year I raised. over £800 for two charities and in 2019 so far £340 for two charities todate. I would like to keep raising money for these charities and attend the shows.

I am now looking for help to contiue to attend all the shows this year and in the summer of 2020. Costs are £150 each time for the van hire and £50+ for fuel soon adds up. Different pitch fees at each show.  If the shows isnt busy and I dont do enough hair cuts, then at times I have come away at a great loss.

I would be so grateful if you are able to donate and help fund this crowdfund idea. (A few show people have pushed me to set thsi up) lol.....Thank you and I look forward hearing from you soon. :)
