Introduction
At the age of 14 years, I started racing radio controlled cars and finished with some good results in competitions. I then decided to try and buy a kit car and to compete in hill climb and sprint events. I first purchased a Tiger Super Cat. I rebuilt the car myself to a full track/race car and competed in many events finishing with in the top five places at each event. I then felt I wanted more from racing and I managed to save all my salary by working overtime and eventually bought a Van Dieman RF93. during my first year racing this car I my first class win. I now want to enter into full track racing and against other competitors. To do this I need to rebuild my car hence my request on Crowdfunding. Education At the age of 14 years I was taken out of school with no qualifications and went to study mechanics at York College. I found my experience with hands on mechanics and enjoyed this field and was determined to use this experience in helping me gain success in motor racing. Experience My family were already involved in motor sport and I became involved when I went to a karting meeting with my uncle who asked if i wanted a go. I said yes and achieved some really good lap times. I then got my self a racing car with my dad and we started doing hill climbs and sprint racing. I passed my driving test last year at the age of 18 years, and at the end of 2015 I bought the car from my Dad and set up RTM Racing Team. Ambition 2016 onwards, I would like to enter the Monoposto Championships and finish in the top ten, gaining my first experience of a full racing season. The maybe going into 2017 aiming to win the championship. After this who knows, maybe Formula 3 onwards. Plans and Project To enable me to achieve my ambition I need to raise £3,000 to finish rebuilding my car. I have already spent £5,000 this winter and have 6 weeks to complete the project requiring new radiators, new battery, race gear, fire proof suit, and several spare parts for the races, plus oil, tyres and fluids.
