Empowering women in Morocco and preserving their traditional artisan skill, so that culinary Argan Oil can be enjoyed in years to come.

What is the problem that we are trying to solve?

We would like to extend our support of traditional Moroccan women cooperatives in today’s Argan Oil market, where they are competing against businesses that are commercialising their trade. We are passionate about the traditional women cooperatives, because their Argan Oil is high quality, unprocessed and pure. It should be the traditional women cooperatives who should gain the recognition, not the factories who make the Argan Oil synthetically. Without supporting these women cooperatives, the secrets of the perfect Argan kernel roasting to produce the best tasting Argan Oil will not be passed onto the next generation and thus, we all miss out on all the Argan Oil's nutritional goodness in its pure and natural form. In recognition of women's hard work at the cooperatives, we feel we should give something back. We wish to improve the lives of the women with the money you donate by providing medical care and education for them. In turn, this also helps the traditional cooperatives to compete against factories, by keeping the cooperatives attractive places for the women to work at.

Why do we care?

We visit our traditional Moroccan women cooperatives every few months and so we know of the extensive manual labour and passion that goes into the making of the Argan Oil. We, hence, feel that we should not only continue to support the cooperatives by buying Argan Oil from them, but also give the women rewards for their hard work.

How will the money be spent?

The money which you give will be spent in two ways. We will primarily spend it on medication, as well as paying for a doctor to directly visit the cooperatives, to help ensure that the people get medical help, if they require it. This is important to us, because receiving medical help is often difficult for the women to obtain due to the women living in remote locations and a lack of economical resources. We will also use your donated money to support a scheme introduced by the cooperatives, which provides free education to the women of the cooperatives. This mean that with your money, the women at the cooperative will be able to lead a good and healthy life, which enables them to continue earning a livelihood that empowers them.

Another part of your donations will be spent on making The Taste of Argan Oil organically certified, so that the Argan Oil can gain the organic recognition that it deserves.

When will supporters see the difference?

Supporters will be able to see the difference within a month after our goal has been reached. We will post our achievements on our Social Media pages (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram). Thanks to your generosity, we will be able to help our partner women cooperatives and our passion for Argan Oil can prevail, so that we can all continue to use Argan Oil for its unique nutritional values, as well as making a significant positive impact in the lives of the women at the cooperatives.

Your Rewards

Not only will you become part of a very valuable cause, but you can also, depending upon the value of your donation, receive a gift set of Argan Oil prepared from the very same cooperatives that you are supporting.
