The Style Acre Tea Room is a local eating and meeting place where many enjoy the food and drink on offer. It is run as a social enterprise by local charity Style Acre. The Tea Room enables people with learning disabilities and autism to gain valuable work experience, skills and confidence. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and is always our first choice when looking for somewhere to have a cup of tea or bacon butty.
After a recent visit it became clear how hard the government guidance in relation to COVID-19 had made it for everyone involved in running the Tea Room, and the small outside marquee has become a life line in wet weather for keeping things going and allowing customers to maintain social distancing.
Like many venues, the Tea Room is so reliant on outdoor space and good weather to help sustain income at the moment and as we enter into Autumn this will make operating the Tea Room even more difficult.
This also comes at a time when Style Acre have had to adapt their fundraising in light of cancelled events and fundraising. They have had to run appeals to subsidise the day-to-day running of their day opportunities. They do not have spare funds to invest in solutions to help keep business at the Tea Room going strong through the Autumn and Winter months.
We're looking to raise money to support Style Acre Tea Room as much as possible to help see them through this really difficult time. There are a few different ways we could do this, however we primarily need to raise funds for an additional outdoor structure or structures, which offers additional outdoor space in weather and also achieves compliance standards onsite.
Your donation would help the Tea Room to keep running at maximum capacity and continue to offer people with learning disabilities and autism the opportunity to develop skills and confidence in the future.
