I’m Paul Rose, founder and manager of The Owl Sanctuary and I dedicate my life not only to caring for owls, but in educating people about conservation of wild and captive owls.
Travelling around Cumbria and North Lancashire, I, with the help of a very small team, encourage everyone to enjoy and appreciate these beautiful birds and the web of life on which they depend. We carry out research to improve our understanding of these special birds and work with schools to help children to understand owls and their role in the natural world.
As a ‘not for profit’ organisation The Owl Sanctuary relies on donations from the public, sales from our shop in Barrow in Furness and events. This income stream took a tumble at the end of 2017 when I suffered from poor health issues that almost cost me my left leg.
I have now had to step back from some of the day to day activities I love, and our small team now need to ensure the work continues and get out and about across the county, displaying the owls at various public venues, raising awareness, raising funds and educating everyone on the conservation of these beautiful birds.
And this is where we desperately need your help.
The Owl Sanctuary desperately need your HELP to survive the Corona-19 virus that has stopped our income, however the Owls still need to eat and be housed in safe clean conditions, Please help by financially supporting us through this unprecedented times, up until the Covid-19 virus hit the world, we now need help to survive as our income has been stopped and our reserves are running out, linked to the fact as like others the government funding has not been given out yet and the banks are not answering any calls for t least and hour or more. Arrrrrrrrrrr.
