Help release album tribute to Chris James

Help release album tribute to Chris James

We aim to raise £900 to release our debut album for the family and friends of much loved band member Chris James who passed away in Feb 2017

We did it!

On 22nd Sep 2017 we successfully raised £2,030 of £900 target with 89 supporters in 42 days

New stretch target

Original target of £900...... reached within 36 hours!

1st Stretch Target of £1400 ......reached within 4 days!

2nd Stretch Target of £1650 ......reached the next day!

3rd Stretch Target of £2000......nearly there!

The incredible kindness you've shown this project has left us eternally grateful.  Thanks again for all your thoughtful donations, shares and support. It really does mean the World to us to finish this recording for Chris.

The CrowdFunder project is live until 22nd September 2017. Once it closes the funds will be released and the CD master will be sent away for duplication. The album has now been mastered by the legendary Donal Whelan at Hafod Studios and we're working on the online mp3 registration.

ETA for CDs and download codes is early October so please bear with us. We would have moved the date forward if we could but we set the project at 6 weeks with no comprehension that it would reach target within 36 hours!

Thanks again

Ali & Scott

I formed the The Lowfells in January 2016 in Cardiff with fellow musicians Chris James (keyboards) and Scott Guy (guitar). We shared the same musical influences and quickly became close friends which reignited my love of song writing.

As a 3 piece, we started writing our own songs with the aim of recording demos that could be used to form a full band. On 29th January 2017, we finished recording our 3-piece acoustic version of our album 'Marks' and began playing the tracks live at open mic nights around Cardiff and Newport.

Tragically Chris passed away on Friday 3rd February 2017 shortly after performing our 4th gig. His family and friends were devastated to learn that he had pneumococcal meningitis. He was 35 years old.

Chris was a much-loved character and an exceptional musical talent. He was in his 2nd year studying music at Cardiff University and was fast becoming the go-to-man for session playing keyboards.  He LOVED music and really filled our lives with his enthusiasm and passion. He was also a great musical mentor, writing partner and he absolutely loved The Lowfells

Scott and I would therefore like to raise £900 to see our recording professionally mastered and pressed onto 400 CDs for the family and friends of Chris James. The album was the last recording Chris ever made and being able to provide the people who knew and loved him most with a finished CD would mean the World to all of us.

Thanks for reading

Ali Price
