I want to buy my mum a scooter so that, despite her mobility issues, she can get out and about, see friends and maintain her independence.

For those of you who know me, you know that I am a determined individual who is always looking to help other people.

I want to raise money to buy my mum a special foldable and super-light electric mobility scooter. I am doing this as a surprise for her - she does not know about this campaign. I want to give her the scooter not only because it will it show her how much she is loved thanks to the support of her friends and family, but it will importantly give her renewed independence, more confidence and a new way to explore.

Just to give you a little bit of background, Mum contracted polio as an infant, and although she recovered and has been super independent throughout her life, as she gets older, and Jade and I are not always around to help, for mum walking and getting around is proving more and more difficult. She is embarrassed by her difficulties with walking and is becoming low. She really wants to be able to get out and about, joining friends as they walk in the park and go shopping.

So, I want to help! Buying her a scooter, which she can easily put in the car, and which can give her the range to shop, see friends or get to work, is the first step.

The best scooter on the market, which is lightweight and foldable, is the EFoldi scooter, but it is £2200!

I'm going to do everything I can to raise the money to get this for my amazing mum - collages, extra writing and saving up where I can. But I need your help to get the scooter for her asap!

P.s. Mum doesn't know anything about this - and I would love it if we can all get together to surprise her when we raise the funds!
