Help me write my Queerly Autistic book
Not quite
Unfortunately this project was not successful.

I'm writing a book for young autistic people who know/think they are LGBTQIA+, and I need help covering the cost of research materials.

As a young person, the world of gender and sexuality was incredibly confusing, not least because I was autistic (although undiagnosed) and the world seemed impenetrable and overwhelming. I came out as bisexual at seventeen, and was diagnosed as autistic at twenty three, and in the five years since I have wanted to reach out and help people in that double rainbow recognise and embrace their own identity.

Well, now I have my chance. I am working with Jessica Kingsley Publishers to write a book specifically aimed at young autistic people who are, or think they may be, LGBTQIA+. The book will cover everything from terminology, figuring out your identity, coming out safely, finding autism friendly community spaces, and having safe sex and relationships.

My own experience is not enough to make this book what it desperately needs to be. And the books and materials I need in order to get this right are expensive. So I am asking for small donations towards the costs of materials I need for the book. The money raised here will only be used on books and materials related to my writing, and I will keep everyone updated as to how it is being put to good use.

Thank you for your support and your help, which I have felt keenly at every stage of this exciting but terrifying project.
